madkiwi
I know that mag loaders for Suomi and Stens are pretty much identical, now I learn that the Swedes made a mag loader for the Swedish K that uses 36 round stripper clips that apparently work on Suomi magazines. Which begs the question- does it also work on Sten mags? Anyone tried it?
Sandman1957
I have not tried it, but doubt that it will work. The STEN is a single stack Magazine at the feed lips, and the Swedish K, Smith and WESSON 76, SW760 are all double stack mags with the double stack at the feed lips. The double stack allow you to press the rounds straight down, and the single stack is a slide the round into the mag from the front, when the follower is pressed down more of a two step loading process. Said differently the STEN loads from sliding from the front then down, the Swedish K and other "double stack" load from the top down.
Blanksguy
No...…..Swedish-K magazines are fed from either side with a wider opening (like a Thompson .45ACP Magazine)……...the Sten is single-position feed so they (like Grease-Gun magazines have to be loaded one round at a time. madkiwi
I forgot about the feed lips. So is a Suomi loader still going to work on a Sten magazine?
rsideout
I us a standard Magula pistol mag loader for my MP40 mags. Quick and easy loading. I'm sure that it will work for Sten mags also.
