sentinel
I'm sure this is the first time you've seen an ad of someone wanting to buy and MG42 or 34, or maybe that should read 101st ad. If anyone is thinking about parting with their pride and joy please contact me. Price wise, figured anywhere from low 20s to low 30s. Let me know if your asking price falls within that rather large bracket. I have a Royal Typewriter BAR for trade but will sell it to get cash for deal if that's prefered. Thanks for looking. OldFalGuy
Sentinel, If you find one in the low 20's and you don't like it for some reason i would like to have a shot at it if you don't take it. There is nothing on these guns that can't be corrected or replaced-except if someone did a reweld ont he receiver and few were dewated in that manner way back wehen. I thin your looking in the 30-34 range realistically and it should be a nice one. autoweapons.com has a couple, one unfired for 41K (but who cares about unfired if your gonna shot it yourself (just MHO) These gun , the 42 are high because they are easy and cheap to maintain as opposed to say an M-60 which cost about as much but barrels are triple the cost along with other parts. Good luck in your search, take your time but if you get close to one buy it, they are easy and cheap to mainatin and don't easily wear out.
