brucea4
Hi gang, Does the USGI M60D Ejection control assembly frame & bag work on a standard M60 mounted on the M142 mount without modification?
mattnh
Yes, it works with the platform style mountsIncluding the M142
MG08
You do need the adapters for the bag that go on the gun .....
mattnh
You do need the adapters for the bag that go on the gun ..... Correct, you need an ejection bag mounting bracket to attach the bag regardless of the mount. The front hook on the platform mount (like the 142) will prevent the bracket from being attached as normal, so you have to either leave it sitting on theplatform mount rather than pinned as it normally would be to the gas tube or cut the end of the bracket off... 1st pic shows how the front of an ejection bag mounting bracket does NOT fit into the front hook of a platform mount (in this case an M142). 2nd pic is of a gun on a platform mount with an ejection bag (showing it can be done) Edited November 7, 2019 by mattnh
brucea4
Thank you all. Beyond my capabilities so I guess I'll be picking up the brass and links from the ground...
Normal1959
Buy a large tool magnet and run it through the mess and it will collect all the links. I leave the brass on the ground since I never reload. Someone who can use it always grabs mine.Eric
brucea4
Yes, I have done the magnet thing before so I guess I will be doing it again...
mattnh
You could also just run a loop of wirewap wire (which you likely have handy from applying to the gas system nuts)through the hole in the ejection bag mounting bracket and loop it over the platform front hookIt would make the fit tighter and no permanent mods to the bracket required... That being said, I just use a magnet+bucket to pick up links...This one with a quick release works great https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IO69MNS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=
