nate129
I recently stumbled across a video on YouTube showing the Hale muzzle brake for m1918: It looks like the maker also posted about it in a board forum but has not been very active since 2017: http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21366 Have any of you tried this muzzle brake? RoscoeTurner
Nope, it was more of a solution looking for a problem.
johnsonlmg41
I notice when shooting the second time with the brake, her stance is notably different? Had she done the second shot in a bikini I think the sales result would have been dramatically different and she may have made more money off the video than brake sales! StrangeRanger
So if you're going to the trouble of making a compensator for the BAR (a very limited market) why not just make a copy of the original Cutts as used on the Monitor? He might be able to sell more than 1 or 2 of those.

MrBill
Part of the problem for simply getting a monitor (copy) muzzle brake is the cost.BMG parts had monitor muzzle brakes but unlike the Hale brake, they cost $600. I bought one for my faux monitor that Dan Block built for me.They work very well. Easy to see why Clyde Barrow liked to steal these.

If you are interested in getting all of the bullets to go where you want them to, then this brake will do that. Most of the BAR demos i have seen show shooters firing from the hip as though they were lighting a box of firecrackers.

Just like being a teenager again when I thought every corvette came with a pretty girl. If I had asked her to put on a bikini, then either her husband or her dad (my HS buddy) would have drowned me in a bucket. So, if I had gotten some mug who spends 4 hr /day in the gym, would you have found that to be more attractive?

Look, I was bored and had access to the NC Army National Guard Range at Butner NC (this was before we lost the war on terror, or whatever they call it now). It was an experiment that worked better than I thought.

I was shooting off hand at 200 yards at a military bullseye (about a foot in diameter). I could get 17 out of a 20 round burst in the black. I guess I could have developed an app for opening a can of tuna, but this was more interesting.

Her two daughters will rule the world. e the blast and doing radially was most effective and I didn't have to index it. If you just want to shoot from the hip at 20 to 50 yards, then this is a waste of money. If you want all the bullets to go as directed from 100 yards out, this works (providing you know how to shoot for effect).

I didn't have the ability to edit this, so it was kind of flawed in that respect. I thought about just doing a close up of the muzzle with and w/o the brake with a reference board behind it, but then I would have had to come up with a rest / brace for the rifle that would move freely from a neutral position. I picked a pretty girl instead. Oh well...

The FBI agent "FBI Bob" was a small unit commander in the Marines in Viet Nam, a lawyer who was CO of the hostage rescue team for the FBI. Just watch Bob shoot. Look at the muzzle. The girl did pretty well for a novice. I didn't want to get some guy that spends hours in the gym that could fire a mortar from his knee cap. Anyway, the have sold well enough and are nearly done. We had a ball and I had nothing better to do.

No; however, there was an experimental bipod mount threaded for the flash hider at one time: Maybe an A2 bipod mount / flash hider could be turned down and threaded.
