Cincylance
The top cover Trommelhalter was $1750 about 1 year ago. I bought the Patronentrommel 34 for ~ $5200 in Jan 2020. Regardless of the money and time involved, it's definitely an addiction! I've heard that Ryan is a very big collector of this stuff as well. And a very big thanks to JohnsonLMG41 for getting me the lead on the winding/adjustment key for the double drum which I was able to purchase from AAS in France! Wow, sounds like you got some good deals. Have you got a spare recoil spring tube? Pretty sure I still have one, maybe even has a spring in it. Let me know if you have interest. Ryo
That's a crazy great deal. I think just the drum alone typically cost the full amount you paid. On a auction today I just saw a auction selling the top cover with hole bunch of other mixed machine gun parts sell for $1200. I was hoping due to the mislabeling no one would bid on it. They had the expected price to be $300-$400 LOL.
johnsonlmg41
The cover in the auction is/was a repro. If you are looking for one, I may have one available. It looks much different, but is functional (possibly better than original?). Or I might part with a standard repro too? If you have any interest PM me. Cincylance
The MGZ optic in that same auction was nice. Did anyone here buy it?https://centurionauctions.hibid.com/lot/90963461/wwii-german-g--heyde-m-g--z-36-scope-with-case?cpage=12 This loader was also a nice find:https://centurionauctions.hibid.com/lot/90963492/wwii-german-saddle-drum-magazine-loader?cpage=13 Yeah, after owning an original doppeltrommel topcover, the repros are easy to spot. Ryo
If I had a MG34 lafette I would have looked at getting it. I'm a sucker at getting a complete set of things.. if it doesn't kill my bank account too much.

I just did a Google image search and "Condor34" has used @maxfaxdude pictures in at least one GunsInternational auction where he sold a loader and loader board. The same search also brought me here (but I recall reading this thread a couple years ago). Scammers and thieves are the worst of humanity. https://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-for-sale-online/parts---ammo---accessories/collectibles---wwii/mg34-double-drum-loader.cfm?gun_id=102589929 Edited May 23, 2025 by Mr.Maim
johnsonlmg41
I spent a month playing whack a mole with him, but yes, he's back and has changed user names several times on several sites. The stuff pictured is reproduction. Maybe you even get it? If you don't he's up in Canada and difficult to pin down even though he's been reported to RCMP up there and FBI cyber here.
maxfaxdude
To clarify, photos 3 to 6 that Mr. Maim posted are pictures I took several years ago of my own collection none of which is for sale. Scammers just plain suck... Be vigilant, vet the seller and ask a lot of questions. Strangely worded emails or texts, typos and weird foreign accents are big red flags for me. And if it doesn't "feel" or "smell" right, just walk away! Edited May 30, 2025 by maxfaxdude
