har1690
So I have an E1 with a broken trigger spring. I do have a replacement trigger spring but need help with how to remove the small pin on the right side of the trigger in order to remove/replace the trigger spring. Thanks in advance... mattnh
I've never just replaced a spring as they usually come pre-installed on a replacement trigger+spring assembly.I know that pin is in there <<super-tight>>. No idea if it can be removed. It doesn't seem like you could force the spring onto the pin after removing the old trigger spring. Did you try to push the pin out on a press/ (or vise) or give it a whack it with a hammer+punch?I wonder if you have to heat it up to remove the pin? har1690
No way of "Did you try to push the pin out on a press/ (or vise) or give it a whack it with a hammer+punch?" as the pin enters from the right but does not come thru. Not like an M-16 trigger pin. The pin that holds the M60 trigger spring in is kind of like a HK trigger housing, the "pin" that holds in the ejector in. I have a spare M60 trigger spring so I would ASSUME the pin can be removed for replacement. MAYBE a bigger hammer...
ANARCHIST
I think that pin is just tight. I have a std 60 grip in hand, pulled trigger, I would rap it with correct punch size while fully supported, worse case, have a local shop make a new pin for you or as stated above buy another trigger with pin/spring installed. EDIT: I think the weapon would fire fine just on the pressure of the sear plunger spring, that tiny spring on triigger is not doing much IMO Edited August 29, 2022 by ANARCHIST
