What's the correct length of the barrel pin?

I bought a barrel pin for my M3 barrel. It can be installed but the pin protudes on both sides. Looks being too long. The current length is 7/8 inches. 

I can shorten the pin, but what's the correct length of this pin?

the pin dont look correct- original,,  it looks knurled on one end to make it tight in hole you can remove pin and shorten it then re install, nobody will ever know,, just sayn

i just checked a gi barrel i have, the pin is .687 long, thats 11-16 th inch long, hope this helps, just sayn

Thanks! I will grind my pin to make it shorter.

Great point. I just looked at mine and it don't look like that.

The pin was ordered from Numerich. Claimed being original, but obviously it is not.
