madmax1299
Title says it all. Have a new dummy tube I’m trying to put a sight on but want to keep as much finish as possible. I see two little “nub” where it was previously attached. Not sure if anyone had any ideas, thanks!
TSMGguy
The MP40 rear sight base was originally spot welded to the receiver. On the MP38 the top of the receiver was thicker, allowing small screws to be used, but the MP40 receiver is too thin for this approach. How about roughing up both the receiver and the underside of the sight and using JB Weld? This might work fine for a display piece. A neat job would be invisible. StrangeRanger
Silver solder?
buckeye10216
Agree with two above posts. I was going to use Silver Solder, but JB Weld worked, so I didn't have to go there. Mine is a tube gun, but I fire it as well and the sight has not come off yet. On a Beretta 38A I upped the ante a bit and used the JB Marine Weld which worked even better! Fingers crossed. lol
