How to put an mp40 sight on a tube without damaging it?

Recommended Posts

The MP40 rear sight base was originally spot welded to the receiver. On the MP38 the top of the receiver was thicker, allowing small screws to be used, but the MP40 receiver is too thin for this approach.

How about roughing up both the receiver and the underside of the sight and using JB Weld? This might work fine for a display piece. A neat job would be invisible.

Agree with two above posts.  I was going to use Silver Solder, but JB Weld worked, so I didn't have to go there.  Mine is a tube gun, but I fire it as well and the sight has not come off yet.  On a Beretta 38A I upped the ante a bit and used the JB Marine Weld which worked even better!  Fingers crossed.  lol
