DINK
I just got some 230 gr. coated bullets from Bayou Bullets and I'm looking for a nice easy load for casual shooting with my Tommy. Thanks in advance.
Tiz
I load 5.0 grains of 700X with 230 grain double coated cast bullets fron Penn Bullets. Same load for 230 grain Speer FMJ.

Waldo
I have used Bullseye or Unique for .45 ACP for many years. I shoot the same load in pistol, revolvers and submachine guns. I couple of years ago, my regular dealer did not have either powder. But he had BE-86. I bought a few pounds. I have tried it in all of my .45 ACP guns. No issues, but I did not see much difference. I don't have a chronograph or a machine rest. But it seemed fine in the Thompson. When those loads are gone, I would have no trouble buying it again. Dan K
I run book minimum loads in mine, runs fine. I do not run that particular powder, given the prices these days, I will stick to what I have on hand.
68coupe
Has anyone used Alliant Power Pistol? I have a 4# jug, and at less than 6gr per, that goes a long way. I've read that it's a little "flashy", meaning the muzzle flash can be a little bright, and the report a little loud. That really wouldn't concern me, unless it's really quite dirty. I bought the 4# because it's on the recipe list for all the different pistol calibers I am just beginning to reload, and it was available. I'm not yet very knowledgeable on burn rates and what they can do. I'm new to this reloading game. so my learning curve is nearly vertical right now. On a side note, I was shocked that the straight-wall of the 45 takes so much more effort to resize than the bottleneck cases I have already done.
