New from U.K.

I have no idea how international arms laws work in the UK/rest of Europe, but I believe this outfit is based in Poland:

https://genuine-militaria.com/thompson-1928a1-m1-m1a1-bridgeport-20-rd-xx-left-facing-magazine-bs-28/

Never dealt with them personally, but have exchanged a few emails, and somewhere online I found someone describing a positive experience with them.

Thanks for that, probably not worth it like you say.

Ill be looking for a 20rd magazine at my next militaria show.

An M1 or M1A1 should have a 30 round magazine.

When they created the M1 version, they ditched the 20 round and 50 round mags and started making the 30.

Just wanted one as a spare, but maybe you are right and I’ll get another 30rd mag :)

Thank you - they are only £15 or so here in the U.K..

Hello and welcome!

I never see before a all matching M1A1, I have one model converted to semi-auto here in Italy but the the lower don't have the same number, as I know M1 and M1A1's all matching are rare to see.

Welcome Ad Lav. My M1A1 has matching serial numbers here

It appears that the deactivation process in the UK cuts the receiver just forward of the magazine well on the M1/M1A1 Thompsons.  The cut would be right about where the "S" for Savage, or the "AOC" for Auto Ordnance Corporation would be.  That is probably why Dazza was unalbe to locate the "S" on his gun.  Dazza, your gun is a Savage gun, that is certain.

Very nice. Thank you for sharing.

Could "HOD" be Hartford Ordnance District? Just a thought.

According to Frank, page 198 of American Thunder 3, HOD WB is the Hawaii Ordnance Depot.
