Wanted information on Colt 1921 overstamp #5382

Recommended Posts

It is a Pre-May Sales Sample with a mis-matched frame that reportedly has been refinished/restored by PK. at Diamond K Companies. It was imported by ARMEX Corporation in California.

Thank you for the information. I saw it listed for $27,000 and thought that was too much by far but wanted to know its history. I did ask if it was matching and refinished. It looks to be in good shape but my thought was about $7,000+ over its worth. What are your thoughts?

Considering what shooter grade transferable Colt guns go for, and what USGI pre sample 1928’s go for, I think they are in line or a little light on the price. You can’t even get a USGI pre sample for $20k now.

Also consider there are MAYBE 7-10 pre sample Colt Thompson’s in the NFA registry, it might as well be considered a transferable as most dealers would love a Colt gun. I have a Colt NAVY-7056 pre sample and it’s a great shooter. While it was less than a transferable, it’s not a common gun to find.
