pstidan
From IMDB - Frank Barker, wants Joe Friday to help him get a firearms license for the Fielder Militia. The LAPD knows that the militia's weapons are stolen from the Army, so they have Joe string Barker along until they can arrest him and grab the weapons. Frank wants to sell Joe a beautiful M1A1 Thompson for $70 for Joe's assistance in getting his "firearms license". In the final scene, Joe hands Frank $70 for the Thompson and Frank is immediately arrested. The Thompson used on the set looks mint beautiful. I wonder if this Thompson was one of the Stembridge Gun Rental weapons that Dan Shea liquidated for them back in '98/'99. If so, where is it today? jim c 351
Nice, thanks for posting. Is anyone here old enough to remember the original DRAGNET episode where Joe Friday uses a tommy to shoot a bad guy??? I have been unable to find and post, but I do remember several things that a 12 year old wouldn't remember. The gun had a vertical forend. Joe had to stop at the local store to buy 45 ammo. Joe shot from the hip. Joe fired a rather long burst, put most of the burst in the house behind the bad guy. Anyone??? Jim C
anjong-ni
I wasn't able to find Joe Friday wielding a Tommy in the original "Dragnet"TV series. There was also a movie inspired by the early TV show. The scene sounds familiar. I'll have to keep looking...Phil https://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Dragnet_(1951)
