THOMPSON SUB MACHINE GUN / U.S. MARINE CORPS SERVICE KIT

Ran across this on GB, screams fake to me but was curious if this style of spare parts container actually existed?  I'm familiar with the Colt era spare parts container but I've never seen one like this.

Not a real "Marine Service Kit" but more like something someone put together.  The original ones, were standard Colt spare parts kits, but with a few extra parts added...I know this as I had one, and it is pictured in TD's book, tho I sold it to the person who is listed in the book.  Another educated idiot fishing for a sucker on that one.

That makes sense, and I assume they were never engraved nor made by WPS?  Thank you for the response.

This is a great example of needing to learn the product in a very expensive market before spending your hard-earned money. The learning curve can be shortened by being a member on this forum, buying the right books geared towards your particular interest in the Thompson world, and joining and attending a Thompson Assocation Show & Shoot. Years ago, these options were not readily available when the fake canvas and metal spare part kits were introduced in the marketplace by a faker from Pennsylvania. This is but another fake piece of merchandise looking for someone that does not understand the product. Hopefully, there is no buyer for either item.

Send David a little money for the enjoyment you receive on this website, buy a book and attend a Thompson Show & Shoot to make invaluable contacts for the future. There are deals to be found, but only if you know the product. The above examples are simply garbage at the prices offered. Ten bucks apiece and I am in :)

Looks laser engraved, notice the old wear isn't on top of the engraving but under it...appears that way from the pics anyway.

100% the engraved portion is obviously "new" . Did y'all notice in his AD he states hes not selling it as an original because hes never seen one in real life to be able to verify. Well, I guess he still hasn't so there's always that. Man I hope no one takes the bait on this.
