I have never seen a 3 cell Type XX pouch for a Thompson submachine gun. It makes me wonder if this pouch is simply a modification of the common USGI Type XXX magazine pouch. Or was originally designed for another submachine gun. It looks to be another UD-42 pouch given the size.  Have you tried inserting 3 Thompson Type XX magazines in the pouch and snapping the flaps.  

I have seen a few UD-42 magazine pouches. This one appears to be in very nice condition.

Are there any manufacturer markings on either pouch?

They do not belong to me so i will have to forward your questions.

But note that Tompson XX magazines will fit in the UD42 magazine pouches, i tried and it’s true

So i assume that this 3 cell pouch will accept both Thompson XX and UD magazinea
