Or, you could take a front mainspring off a surplus jeep and grind it down, or maybe one off a train. :)

Oh I made one last night out of the spring steel in a Mauser stripper clip. Cut it down to size and worked perfectly !

Just grind off anything that doesn't look like an MP40 rear sight spring.   😄
