400 on barrels and about or just under 200 on bolts.

July of 2023 I paid $155 shipped for a NOS Steven’s barrel from Bob.

just paid $250 for a used m1 bolt.

Original MINT-in-wrap barrels go for $175-$250. I have not seen a true, original MINT bolt

for years. Used VG-EXC bolts go for $350-$450.

The bolts I have were probably bought 25 years ago or more.

I’d say an M1A1 bolt would command a bit less than the M1 prices stated by Bob, but that’s my opinion.  If someone needed an bolt, an M1A1 will fill the hole.

An M1 bolt is far harder to find than an M1A1

APEX Gun Parts has M1 Thompson bolts in stock, complete and stripped.

Thompson M1 Bolt, Complete, Savage, In the White .45 ACP

When I listed them I researched the marketplace and priced them accordingly.
These are from our most recent purchase of another outfits storage warehouse.
I was really happy to be able to restock some of the Thompson parts as we have not located any quantities in many years.

ALSO, any US origin military surplus is very difficult to get a form 6 for commercial sales.

I have mentioned this before but some people prefer the M1 bolt vs. M1A1 because you

get a higher rate of fire with an M1 bolt. M1 Savage bolt w/ WRA 55 ball ammo - 788 RPM.

M1A1 Savage bolt w/ WRA 55 ball ammo - 641 RPM. This test was done 15+ years ago by

board member J. Christopher.

I think what is happening here is that the M1A1 bolt is "advanced primer ignition" where

the cartridge is fired a split second before the bolt slams shut and the forward momentum

of the bolt acts as a shock absorber slowing down the rearward velocity of the bolt. The

M1 bolt does not fire the cartridge until the hammer strikes and moves the firing pin which

does not happen until the hammer hits the front wall of the bolt pocket and pushes the firing

pin forward. So the bolt is probably almost at a dead stop when the cartridge is fired and

there is no shock absorber effect and the rearward velocity of the bolt is faster. A M1928A1

with the smame hammer/firing pin has a rate of fire of 767 RPM.

Bob I’ve sent you a few emails about Barrels for sale but haven’t heard back.
