anjong-ni
It's hard to imagine that these were made by the same company. The brackets are completely different. Engraved vs hand-stamped serial numbers. Fascinating history... Phil

The original poster asked for pricing on his original drum, and half a dozen guys jump in and hijack the thread 🤔
Grease Gunner
MY Drum is original Colt Era and i dont have a clue why these hijackers throw in West Hurley modern day junk 1 hour ago, inertord said: Why do you keep comparing the poster’s original 1920’s drum to a West Hurley Drum? The bottom photo is Grease Gunners drum he initilaal posted. The Top with the white is Someone Elses.Which of these 2 are you calling a West Hurley, the one with white in the numbers/ writing( not Grease Gunners )or the one that's Black with the nicer rivets numbered 588 which is the One Grease Gunner originally asked for? There's some confusion in this thread and the Details are all crossed up at this point.Phil wasn't beating a dead horse but theres somthing going on here.
rpbcps
Let us not start 'falling out' on this first day of 2025. With respect, when Grease Gunner first made his post on the 27th Dec., he posted NO photos. Also the title of the topic changed, there was no mention of Colt era, when the topic was first posted, if I recall correctly? Hence the assumption by some board members that the drum may have been a West Hurley drum, from the initial information provided, was justified. No one hijacked the post, but as usual members of the forum were attempting, as they always do, to assist with an honest answer, to the limited information provided. Once the photos were provided by Grease Gunner, that obviously changed the perspective of the replies, many of which, if not all posts referring to West Hurley had already been posted. As Roger has identified, Grease Gunner has a nice example of a Colt C Drum. Let us all always remain civil amongst ourselves and respect all board members. We are all here to help each other with our interest in the Thompson submachine guns. As David says, "Keep the Thompson History alive!". Wishing you all the best for the New Year, and let us hope 2025 is kind to us all. Stay safe Richard Edited January 1 by rpbcps Typo 1
John Dillinger
Grease Gunner, nice C drum, what a lovely bit of kit. Whether it’s re finished or not it’s such a rare piece 👌 Here’s screen legend Mae West toting a C drum loaded Thompson back in 1935.
