Thompson M1A1 - 5 Pointed Star Stamping - Does Anybody Know What It Is Please?

Hi everybody, I'm in England the M1A1 I bought quite recently. All the stampings have been identified except the one below which i only noticed yesterday.

Part of the guns stock has been replaced at some point, it probably had the sling swivel moved by the British and then back again at some point.

This may be a 'Lend Lease' gun but does not have it stamped on it. It's been deactivated to old spec;

Please let me know if you need anymore information.

It's on the side of the receiver just below the sight. thanks for any help.

That's pretty Interesting piece you have.So many of these wartime thompsons,if they coukd only speak,the stories they woukd tell.At least the marks are able to tell some sort of history
