Is this guy for real.

Dunno about the PPS43 but on the PPSh 41 the lower is not the serialized part.

The same seller also has a slotted Uzi conversion bolt listed for $999.

It must be something in the water 🤣🤣

The lower has a SN on the tang. PPSH's have six SN's: Upper receiver, lower (on tang), stock, barrel, bolt, FCG (trigger assembly).

But the S/N that ATF cares about is the one on the upper receiver; it is the serialized part.  The others are just parts

Exactly. That why this seller is stupid !

rules can be different on post samples depending on how things are built up and/or put together.  It doesn't really matter since it can only go to another Mfr who could do the same thing from scratch.   As a mfr you can register a stick as a post sample MG.

Ahhhh ok then. This is making more sense  now. Thanks for the info !

So he registered an otherwise transferable lower thereby turning it into a postie?  Sounds like a genius at work

What happens when he or some other poor fool puts an upper on it?  It legally becomes a pair of SMGs?  I fail to see the logic in the whole process

Unfortunately a lot of vintage parts are going to end up being chopped up eventually when this 02/07 shortcut finally crashes down for many.  If they could stick to converting AR15 lowers and other modern stuff I wouldn't much care, but you'll see a lot of 80-100 yo parts and guns get burned up or surrendered eventually.   While I shoot all of my old stuff, it's pretty sparingly, so maybe there will be something left for the next museum curator to try out?  If I feel the urge to rip hundreds of rounds off in a minute or two, I try to limit it to something that's currently made.

Great points all, which is why so many of us stockpile spare parts while we can get them.
