Andrewski's answer to the MB series M45!

Recommended Posts

I was on the phone with John this AM and of course the topic came around to his and his dad's work on the "L" series M45's, progression of refurbishments and then to today's market and what can be done given the much higher prices of the guns. John just completed three semi-auto M45's, SBR's that look exactly like the FA guns. I did not see one, but he says they are super cool... all three sold immediately.

Anyway, most of you know I own two "K's", one a "L" series KPIST (Egyptian) that John did (M45 configuration) that I shoot all the time, and use my integral with. The other is a "MB" series gun that was a very large piece of guano. I sent it to John and told him to do his thing. The gun came back as you see, rebuilt on a Swedish Kit and looking as good as anything I have encountered. It is finished as a M45C.

Enjoy.

Why do you always photograph your guns in your kitchen? Inquiring minds want  to know.

Hey Bill! Great question for which I really don’t have an answer.  I guess the light is better there than the basement.

What is the model and year of your rolex?

Ha! It’s a Submariner, 2021. I bought my first Rolex in 1982 in a PX in Germany, $1,250. This is my third.  I have a Kermit Submariner on order.  Did you know that if you order one at a dealer, they have to sell it to you at MSRP.  No markups! It takes about a year, but worth the wait.

That is a handsome watch my friend.  Rolex watches and machine guns make for a nice pairing.

Thanks, I could not agree more.

...but a TAG Heuer allows you to buy more guns or a lot more ammo.  Priorities, priorities

Ah my friend, you bring up a valid point. Remember though, my entry point was low! I traded my Oyster Perpetual Date Just (bought in 1983 for around $1, 250) for almost $10K when I upgraded. Of course I had the original box, paperwork and stuff.....

Wow.....fancy!   I don't own any watches.....spent it all on guns.   If I really need to know I grab a pen and sundial it.  I end up working pretty long on cloudy days though!  More cloudy days, more guns!

Same here.  I was handcuffed and jailed when I was about 20 and never wore anything on my wrists again. ;)

NFA Amnesty,

Thank you for recognizing the subtle attraction of a digital watch with an analog movement.  It's a weird combination of old technology and a modern display.  It has a display back, which I love, but that's a feature that people don't see.

Don and Johnsonlmg41,

Before retiring, I ran a full time surveillance team for a law enf. entity.  When working against street level criminals, the team members blend in better by not wearing watches.  Those lower level targets don't wear them, that's for upper classes.  Targets notice it when the new homeless man/displaced veteran/panhandler in neighborhood is sporting even a modest watch.   Fortunately we normally worked against upper level subjects.

Ahh, you guys are killing me!

When in the hood I check the shoes....if you're panhandling with $100+ shoes on, I laugh at you.  It's how I got out of getting fully robbed in Jamaica...by pointing out the crook had better clothes than me and I didn't have "his kind of money"  LOL.

You guys made me check my junk drawer and lo and behold.....an 80's gem I had not gotten rid of during the heydays of Miami Vice.  Never got any chicks with it though when we went clubbin. Does this rolex count?  I'm into the MACS for less than 1K each....so I sort of stole'em?

Ahh, perhaps you need to look closer at my Rolec, where the most valuable part today is the copper coil....since the battery is long dead....as is the rest.  $130, that's a chunk of change!  That's like Rekraps money?

You guys are too funny. Just enough gun stuff to keep the  moderators off our ass!

Kinda like good cigars and single malt scotch. I've got the steel and gold GMT Master II. And a vintage Air King for everyday.
