hkg3k
Another member asked about the alteration of PPSh magazines / drums for use in the PPD-40. PM's don't allow direct posting of pics (only from a URL), so I thought I post the "how to" and a couple pics here. It's really very easy, the left rear of the feed lip must be notched to clear the PPD's ejector to allow the mag to seat. This is very easy to see upon inserting a PPSh drum or mag into the PPD-40 with a clear view of the ejection port. Don't remove any more metal than necessary (not a lot is required) and doing this alteration will allow you to put up those ultra-rare PPD-40 drums and run much more plentiful PPSh drums and stick mags without issue. If you've ever owned a PPD-40, then you'd know just how rare their dedicated drums and spare parts are. I posted for the benefit of another user (who asked) and had a genuine interest in the information and pics...was just trying to be helpful. If you didn't find the post useful, you could've just ignored it and moved along vs. going out of your way and taking the time to post a snarky / sarcastic remark. just sayn

hkg3k
Well...I guess now I'm the a**hole 😄 Apologies, but I thought you were being a smarta**. I'm genuinely glad someone else derived good from the post...and it sounds like you've been waiting a very long time! With that small alteration, you can run PPSh41 drums and sticks (there were originally no sticks made for the PPD-40) in your gun. Happy shooting...they're lovely guns! I love the information and of course I love the humor. The danger of emails / posts are that sometimes people misinterpret! All's good guys!
