need help removinga Black Dog Machine 1928 22 conversion kit

Recommended Posts

need help with a Black Dog Machine 1928 22 conversion kit. Trying to take it out of TSMG 1928AC.  There appear to be no manuals left on the internet.

I believe the barrel comes thru the action with rubber gaskets to protect the original barrel and is secured with a barrel sleeve coming from the muzzle end, threading into the conversion barrel, keeping in place with tension from the muzzle.

Barrel sleeve is out but the conversion barrel does not want to release. I did remove the stock ejector on the 1928 as I recall the conversion barrel indexes on the ejector Don't have a .45 caliber dowel handy, but may be a option. Lubed the conversion barrel and came in to type my question out.

Suggestions? what next?

I had the same problem the first couple times I used my kit. I started paying more attention to the slight turn or twist the barrel makes when going in passing thru the ejector,  and having to make the same turn, twist coming out.

Early kits did not have the groove milled into the rear of the 22 barrel to clear the Thompson 45 ejector, so you could install the barrel without removing the ejector.
