Ignorant (or possibly just greedy) sellers hoping for ignorant buyers

We all know that genuine Wehrmacht stuff brings a buyer's premium so it's described as "MP40 9MM GERMAN SMG WWII MAG LOADER." However it's clearly marked "VIGN" as in Vigneron which was Belgian and not introduced until 1952-53.  It is obviously patterned after the Btitish Mk2 Sten/Lanchester loader, so there's nothing German about it.  It should work with MP40 mags since Vigneron mags are very similar and only slightly wider but still...

Silly man. That Vigneron loader was part of a special German project in time travel. I bet it sold.

I messaged the seller telling him what he really had and why it worked on MP40 mags.  No response and no editing of the ad.

BTW nobody bought it, it just rolled over for another week

There's a lot of that going on in GB.  Like Sola Super mags for $450!!   Yes, they are nice mags, but you can't use either an MP40 loader or a Vigneron loader with them.  And, they are not THAT rare.  Aside from USA MP40 shooters, nobody else wants them.

Also, Vigneron loaders are not a perfect fit.  I put a couple of layers of tape on the inside of the front to make them fit MP40 mags better.  Otherwise, the magazine catch slips.

I do love me some Vigneron loaders though. I've got three of them and have gotten fairly proficient. Not even going to bother looking for original German WW2.

The seller’s user name is dropdbomb and is from Tampa, FL. There used to be (still is?) a scammer and crook named Dana Reed of Tampa, FL. He frequently used that handle, and often used the alias of Dan Perez. He also used to use the handle nukem99 and had a “business” named ASC International and/Arms Sourcing Corp. He used to big into HK stuff, as well. Deal with this person at your own risk.
