ron_brock
lol, yes I thought it could be fun to have a place to talk about the early stuff and leading up to the machine gun. Also want to move over the digger content to this page. Ron

dalbert
I must admit that when Ron texted me about a Bellinghurst, I had no clue what he was talking about, but I'm happy to learn! David
StrangeRanger
Somewhere decades ago (I think on display at the Antietam museum but I wouldn't swear to that) I saw a variation on this theme. It had 3 rows of barrels arranged in a triangle with the top leg horizontal when viewed from the side and mounted so they rotated about a center axis. The top row was in firing position, the front row was pointed down and inwards in cooling position and the rear row pointed out and upwards in loading position. If you started with all 3 sets loaded you could get 3 rapid salvos leaving not much standing in front of you but then you were done. No way to provide continuity of fire
