2t2
With Davidd's permission I am putting this buttstock up for sale and all the proceeds will go to the board. I have no idea how it came to be in my possession. I will pay USPS shipping in continental US. Looking for offers.

colt21a
I had 2 both sold along with a rare Cook County 2 gun hardcase. and sold #6349 my Illinois state police CASED Thompson{VERY FEW AROUND IN PRIVATE HANDS} Yes the decades on these items has flown by, and at this stage nothing is coming out of Chicago P.D.AND ALL THE COLT ITEMS HAVE BEEN STRIPPED out of those guns that remain and all colt drums are long long gone. they all have ww2 era drums as of this date. I still have all the color photos in file. was a good time for me in life chasing it all down....sadly my ST VALS gun i sold to a friend who passed and now has been resold. have all the info but was never contacted by the buyer for the colt letter. and all other paperwork. his loss. anyhow good luck with the sale not many out there anymore. 2t2
Looks like there is no interest. I have boxed it up and am sending it to the Cook County Sheriff. Tom
Bridgeport28A1
Cook County Sheriff's Police. That is confusing. Is it the Cook County Sheriff or the Cook County Police? County Sheriff Departments usually do not refer to themselves as Police but rather as Sheriff or Deputy Sheriff.
inertord
By Illinois statute, the Sheriff in each county having more than one million inhabitants shall maintain a County Police Department division (55 ILCS 5/3-7001). At present in Illinois, only Cook County meets that statutory standard. The Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department is the third largest police department in the State of Illinois, with more than 500 officers. https://cookcountysheriffil.gov/departments/c-c-s-p-d/ Edited April 20 by inertord

tsmg2110
Hi Ron (colt21A)... I didnt think that buttstock would turn up after all these years... You remember the story....The county sold their 2 Thompsons to Stembridge gun rentals in a trade deal for A couple of HK's... years later this spare buttstock was thrown away since it had sat collecting dust in a box of misc old items in the armory for almost 20 years, & it was rescued from the dumpster.......Cook County marked all their High standard riot shotguns the same way by branding the wood...then sold them to Shore Galleries and got Rem 870's the first ones came with wood and were maked but after that the rest of the shotguns came with poly speed feed stocks so no more branding....
