LA County Sheriff Reisings

Recommended Posts

I was sorting old research documents and found this letter from Dolf Goldsmith dated 1999.

In 1971, he bid on 66 Reisings and won them with a bid of $21.00/each and sold them for $35.-$40.00.

Today's value?  $500k +

I recall seeing Reisings for sale in the mid 1980s for $165.00, however, the general mindset was " I am not paying a $200.00 tax on a $165.00 gun".

I bought my first Reising in 1991 for $695.00.

at the same time dolf got those reisings he also got a huge pile of S&W mod 10 revolvers, all condition from new to parts guns,  a huge pile of riot type shot guns, ithica m-37s , rem mod 11s, win mod 97s, win mod 12s, all diferent condition,  i dont think he paid over 5.00 for the pistols and 10.00 for the shot guns, i bought many many from him , fixed them and dribbled them at gun shows, a lot of the shotguns had civil defence branded on the stocks,  those were the good old days, just sayn
