Mojopin2010
This is a bit of a add on to my previous posting a month back. I am curious for the purposes of insurance /selling what would this Wilson Tube MP-40 reworked by John A. be valued at. It is on a nonmatching parts kit with a new barrel. I was offered 20k from a coworker and thinking that is probably close?
Rekraps
Matching OEM MP40's are anywhere from $29 to $39K. I would value yours for replacement at $25K. Nice looking gun.

Nice looking gun. Thanks, it was a closest find by a widow. John said it was a bit of a train wreck and needed a complete rework.
MS Collector
In my observations, prices on MP40's have moderated a bit over the past year or two, so on a tube gun with a brand new reblue, I'd say 20K is about tops. For comparrison, here is a non-C&R transferable MP40 comprised of what appears to be all original wartime German components with original finish (but are mismatched parts from several guns). This example lingered for a good while on the Sturm board, only recently selling for 22K. IMO, this all-original (but M/M) "transferable" should probably bring at least a little bit more than transferable built on a non-original tube, so landing at 22K seems right in line with current market for the Sturm example. https://www.sturmgewehr.com/forums/index.php?/topic/40739-price-lowered-spf-transferable-mp40-ingram-m6-sold-cr-m3-grease-gun-brit-proofs/ IMO, at this point an MP40 needs to be C&R with all-matching numbers and a really nice original finish, if it is going to hit the 30K mark. Lesser condition C&R's will fall into the 25-30 range and, of course, really exceptional examples (and/or with documented history) will be the ones that bring over 30. I hope this information is helpful to you.
Robert Henley
When I started reading this post at the top my first thought was $20K for a nice tube gun. Then I saw where that was what you were thinking. I agree with you. Of course, you have to follow guns for sale on Strum and Gunbroker.com (actual selling prices) to get a good feel for the market. The market is somewhat soft right now, probably because of the uncertainty with the economy. People are generally a little more cautious with their disposable income in uncertain economic times. On the positive side, equity markets have rebounded so if someone wanted to buy a nice NFA gun this would be a good time IMO.
