Dpedersen
I just picked up this winding card. It’s in pretty excellent shape and don’t believe it to be original although I am admittedly not very knowledgeable on the originals. Wanted to see if someone could help me identify it. I looked through the encyclopedia vol. 8 and was attempting to identify which repro version it is. I know it’s not a Swedish repro, I have a few of those. Is this a Gordon or Numrich copy? It is exactly 5” width and height. Image quality of the drums are very good. Thanks! https://imgur.com/a/Z2WmhvI Edited June 22, 2025 by Dpedersen Added imgur link
TSMG28
Devon, In addition to the cards shown in Vol. 8, originals and duplicates are also shown in Vol. 7 starting on page 86, and in my book. It appears that this is a new reproduction version. The alignment appears identical to an original, but the overall size is larger, like the other reproductions. It differs from the alignment of all of the reproductions I have seen. I suspect the card stock is also different from the originals. Not sure when this may have been created, or by whom. If you are coming to the TATA S&S, please bring it along so we can all see it in person. Thanks for posting. Roger
Outsider
Doesn't look to be a gordon repro to me as the red on the drums matches the outside diameter of them perfectly in your example. I also noticed that there maybe a color discrepancy in the last parentheses after 100 car. in the lower left corner under the drum picture as it does not look red in the photo. That maybe the tell to whoever made it.
Dpedersen
That’s just the photo, the parentheses are the same red as the drums. It really is a very good repro. Card quality is good and print quality is very good. Check the Imgur link for better resolution. I nabbed it cheap just because it was good quality. I have a few of the Swedish copies and it exceeds those.

Card also looks to have a textured surface with color variations in it. Edited June 23, 2025 by Outsider
