M1928 Stock with matching numbers on wood & Butt Plate Opinions

Recommended Posts

Hello All….again,

.Here is a stock that was in a parts set I have.  I noticed that the Wood number order the Butt Plate matches that of the Butt Plate.  May I ask, is this common, and does it affect its value.  Please don’t remove these pictures….again I’m just trying to learn.  I’ve tried contacting Dalbert to apologize, but have yet to hear back from him.  So please, I’m just trying to learn….and not circumvent any rules.

A matching butt plate and butt stock is a plus. If the Stock Slide Assembly has the same number, it will be a big plus! Does the Stock Slide have a number? Regarding value, overall condition of the butt stock and plate is much more important. Like the Lyman rear sight you posted about earlier, you are in the low hundreds of dollars of retail value if sold separately, far from Colt prices.

So, I’m thinking selling elsewhere is my other option.  I must admit….not knowing the owner (?) Dave Albert….he’s not easy to get ahold of.

David is available and will get back to you if you sent a PM,  however like most people, he has a full time life outside of monitoring the boards.  If you want to sell instantly, there’s other sites geared for selling items.  If you wish to sell on here, give him some time to respond, he will get back to you.

Yes, you are more than welcome to post to learn, but if you wish to sell on here, give him time to respond.  I’ve also seen where people will drop in once, ask for pricing suggestions and to learn all about their stuff from the experts of that subject, then go list on gunbroker usually at an even more inflated price.  That’s pretty annoying, but just my opinion.
