I now have twins!

Recommended Posts

The top one is a Catco Sterling (built on Sten Mk II tube) and the one underneath is a Sterling Mk. 5 (DLO Sten tube, SRT suppressor, gun built by John Andrewski).

I have a good pile of 34 round Sterling magazines, 26 I believe with some NIW and also three of the rare 45 round magazines (made by the Chilean national armory?).

They are both so much fun to shoot!

Those guns are the pinnacle of open bolt SMG's. I own an Andrewski / DLO regular sterling and almost pulled the lever on his integral unit. Wish I had. And  you are correct, they are a blast to shoot. I got lucky a few years back and have at least 15 magazines (10 still in wrappers) and two mag pouches.

So mine is a DLO/Andrewski (non-integral) gun and it's a beauty. Can you see any difference in the CATCO vs DLO platform in terms of quality, fit & finish and mechanicals?

Beautiful pair! Out of all the machine guns I own and/or have shot, the Sterling is my favorite. I almost think that if I’d bought my Sterling first, I would have never bought my TSMG, Uzi, etc. Mine is a CPS gun built on a virgin DLO  Sterling tube.IMG_6371.thumb.jpeg.560629cebb9a9235c11b572132e60829.jpeg

Back in the early 1980's, I served in a British Army, as a radio operator in a forward observation post. My personal weapon, in that role, was a Sterling SMG. I recall, it was enjoyable emptying 34 rounds on full auto, on the ranges.  We still wore DPM camouflage uniforms back then.

The Sterling is one of my favorite subguns, light, ergonomic, easy to control on FA.

I am lucky enough to have an original PreMay dealer sample, its a late production model, the selector is marked 0-1-32

I'm glad I found the sight adjustment tool... my gun was way off and the tool made it simple to move the front sight to a good zero. For those of you who wonder what it looks like, I'll post pics here later today. It's quite the tool.... not what you would think.
