19Steve67
Looking to BUY a Sten MK5 Wood Front Grip that was used on the Sten MK5. I will take the Hardware to mount this Front Grip and / or the Front wood grip if that is available. I have searched the Dark Web but as of yet I have been denied in my quest for this Sten MK5 wood grip. 19Steve67
Morning StangeRanger Thank you for the heads-up!! I did order that grip from Apex and I realize that is not the Front grip that I am looking to buy. Steve
Riptide
When I owned my mk5 I had issues with the shroud loosening while firing with installed front grip pretty regularly…I ended up removing it and running it without. Something to think about before spending the money…

John Dillinger
Original MkV front grips are hard to find in my experience.Consider going repro perhaps.
19Steve67
Evening: I did go with your idea on repro grip.
John Dillinger
Good stuff Steve. Have you found a repro? I don’t have a front grip on mine and like it that way but it should have one really. See pics my MV, MkII and a WW2 British Airborne 7 cell bandolier with mags. JD
2ndArmored
Mr. Dillinger; Your Mk II seems to have a two-tone bolt. Is that an effect of lighting/photography, is it some sort of metallic hybrid, or do I need stronger reading glasses?
John Dillinger
You are correct. Never gave it much thought tbh. What I do know is that it’s one of 300,000 Stens sold to Finland post WW2. Being in rough order the Fins refurbished them and added sling swivels big ball cocking handles and smoothed out the welds. As far as the bolt goes I just don’t know. It does cock and dry fire but as part of the deactivation the bolt has been cut so perhaps that has something to do with it. We can only buy/own deactivated guns in the UK.
