Unknown British Markings Lend-Lease 1928A1

Two abnormal British marks on 1928A1. Both are Crown over, one Crown/CP and other Crown/unintelligible. Any help with

identification? New member, with my fingers crossed. Thank you-----

Pictures would be a big help!

My guess is either Enfield with the letter "E" mark or Birmingham with the "BP" mark. The marks under the Crown could be Inspector marks. 

A great book to own for the World War II Thompson submachine guns is, American Thunder, Third Edition, by Frank Iannamico. Another book for information on the British Cash & Carry and/or Lend Lease Thompsons is, Great Britain - The Tommy Gun Story, by Tom Davis, Jr. Both are available on Amazon.com and contain a wealth of information. Think Christmas presents!

Is this the Crown/CP marking you are talking about?

Thank you for the replies, have all 3 books, no luck and these marks are very small. Use 40x magnifer

to make out, looking for some way to take picture.

Look here. Mark is a common London Proof House mark.

Here are the marks on my Colt Navy.  TD wrote a chapter on these marks in his book.  Thompson: Colt's, West Hurley's & More.

jedimonkey - If the mark is that small, a MACRO lens may be required. What is the location of this mark? How about a close-up picture with an arrow pointing to the location.

The mark that is legible is definitely a London House proof. The other was not applied correctly and

will be a enigma far ever. Thanks again for input. Still have pictures to come, can only use the phone.
