inspectorudy
Does anyone know of a source in the Atlanta, GA area who has converted an AO to an SBR? I found a gunsmith that says he will do it but has never done it before. I have emailed people on this forum and others about having it done but got no replys so far. TennesseeTimmy
To the question you actually asked - no, i dont know of a local GS for you. I realize you did not ask, but IMO, you will probably be happier if certain other Thompson-specific modifications (bolt hold open, tool-less disassembly, etc.) are done to your rifle in addition to SBR. A smith not familiar with Thompsons probably wont be aware of some of these modifications or how to do them properly. Deerslayer (Dan Block) is who did my gun. I have no first hand knowledge but have read good things about John Andrewski and Las Cruces Gunsmithing among others. If you PMed or emailed one or more of them and didn’t get an answer the next day, give them a week or so. Well-known Thompson smiths you see mentioned on the forum are often covered up. Good luck with your project. Timmy.
