Colt navy stock set question

I know the "navy" horizontal front grip had the offset sling swivel, but would the buttstock have the same. Or is the standard milled swivel correct to make a matching set of wood?

The butt stock on the early 1928 Navy Thompson’s also had the Enfield type off-set swivel.  The base is smaller than the Springfield type swivel, so you will have to find an AOC modified stock.  WWII stock will not work.

For sure the M1928N made by AO/Colt probably did. BUT, A large number 

of M1921/28 were converted by the military and we really don't know how

they were out fitted.

The only original Colt's I have seen via pictures with what I call a Springfield type sling swivel are from the 500 Swedish Colt's sold by Auto-Ordnance in 1940. For those with The Ultimate Thompson Book, turn to page 293. 

I also suspect that the 951 Colt's ordered by the U.S. Army on June 30, 1939, were also equipped with the Springfield type sling swivels. These are the Colt's with the following markings: U.S. Model of 1928 A1. The original number 1 has been overstamped with an 8, but the added U.S. and A1 markings are in a uniform straight line. Unfortunately, none of this variation have been found in original condition. See Thompson: Colt's, West Hurley's & More on page37 for more information. 

When the 1928A1 nomenclature was adopted by the U.S. Military in late 1930, I would guess some of the Colt's in inventory, mostly with the USMC, were marked with the "new" U.S. and A1 markings. However, I do not believe these added markings would be as uniform as found on the 951 Colt's ordered on June 30, 1939. The configuration of these Colt's could be anything as they progressed through military service. 

Those with The Thompson Encyclopedia series should also have this information.

Here is a pic of the swivel on my Colt butt stock marked D.P.D. 6 (I assume Denver PD 6). It is the has the offset swivel. The routed space will not fit the later style swivel. I will say as disclaimer, this stock has been refinished and/or clear coated at some point so it could have been modified at some point later in it's life. But this is how I received it.
