Deputy 89C6
Wow, I didn't realize what an investment a tommy gun could be! http://gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?...p?Item=22279627
21 smoker
Deputy,.. I`ve seen this display at gun shows, but it was priced at half that price...and that is still too much!...`unfired`...cause it probably doesn`t work... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
TommyGunner
Hmmm, looks like a 28 frame on it. Pic is bad but seems to have a forward selector hole. I have heard that is how the early ones were made. I think Devlin is the one who told me that. Could get a F/A for that much coin though. Interesting anyway. giantpanda4
This joker had it for $6000 a year ago. I laughed at it then. He is crazy! Blowitup!
Zamm
I'm not sure whats going on with this one, except he's got a 50 and 100 round drum in the case. Damon - I think the frame was modified, it's just a westy M1 frame. check out the rear grip, notched as usual, and under high magnification, there is no selector hole. Wierdest thing is that awful Kahr-like forgrip! Never saw one like that on a westy, especially an early one. My humble opinion is this is a real strange mutt with a broken firing pin http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Zamm
LIONHART
It appears to be a standard '27 Frame..FWIW, WH did use modified M1 TSMG Trigger Housings on their early production '27 Guns..
TommyGunner
Zamm, had to get off the laptop and look on the big monitor and yup I missed all that! Devlin, Is this a factory confiuration? With the detachable stock? Damon
Sgt
When was the last time a Thompson was used in a robbery?
full auto 45
And to think I passed on 2 guns this week-end. One for $800 and the other for $850. Both Westy guns, no extras. I think the last time one was used in a robbery was around 1936. At least that is what I heard once.
hawksnest
Fullauto45: Sgt asked "When was the last time a Thompson was used in a robbery?" I think the anwer is "Today, if anyone pays that price".
Deputy 89C6
I really like the three choices of wood finish between the two grips and the buttstock...one is bound to be pleasing to someone. It also looks like there is a discoloration to the receiver finish. (Maybe just bad lighting.) Seeing this makes me happy with the deal I just got from Fencer. Steve PS Now just a retired deputy. Grey Crow
Geeze, and the price is reduced. Someone should jump on that right away! Flatest grips I've ever seen.

96lt1ss
He frequently has overpriced auctions, typically the only ones anybody bids on are his cheap items $50 or less. Interesting to note is a recent auction very similar except the price: http://gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?...p?Item=17816352 So did anyone catch that he purchased it for $2800 http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif
Zamm
96lt1ss, Well, that's pretty interesting, seems like a very similar sertup! Well, that answers the 28 buttstock question: Cheapo adaptor plate, though it is one of the rare early ones with factory white lettering.
