MRJ
At one time, Bland Firearms in Richmond. VA, advertised various services for M1 rifle reworks. One such rework sevice as listed in Shotgun News ad was: "M1 Receiver Milled For BM-59 Parts Kit........................................$499.00" I would be interested to hear from anyone with experience with a Bland reworked M1 receiver. Did Bland mark these receivers in any way ? MRJ
21 smoker
I am a new member(been sayin` that alot lately) and I bought one of Bland`s converted M1 Garands. It shoots reasonably well, and the mags are a whole lot cheaper! He was in poor health at the time, about 2 years ago.Other than the machine work, no extra markings.Good Luck. MRJ
21 smoker: Thanks for the reply. One question though: Does your Bland modified M1 use M14 mags ? Bland offered this work in addition to BM59 conversions of M1 receivers. MRJ
21 smoker
MRJ: My Bland M1 takes M14 mags. 308 cal.,built from a sorry Sarco kit. Mr. Bland had a difficult time with the conversion. 2 rifles were made at same time and mine was the one that shot well.My freind`s did not because of the poor quality of the kit we purchased and sent to Mr Bland. So, my advise is to shoot it first with the proper ammo, check for keyholing at 50 yards.Good Luck and Good Shootin!
