Brickyard
Well, Magoo, you’ve done it again ! Please take a gander at some pics of the new toy that Santa delivered this morning not from the great North Pole, but the rather from the workshop of – whom else but – PK! This little pup, I picked up covered in its own NIB grease. However, little did I know that the cute little critter was really a POS in Tommy drag. It wouldn’t even feed a round much less fire one. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif Many have heard the tale. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif So, into the big brown box it went and look at what the master can do! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif Can’t begin to say how satisfied and pleased I am with Paul’s work and professionalism. Tomorrow, I’m gonna shoot the hell out of it. In fact, Sunday too. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Thanks again Paul – great, great job. The1930sRust
CJ: Wow. Wonderful weapon. I remember the feeling of euphoria that swept over me when I heard that big brown truck gearing down and pulling up the drive with my '28 coming back from Paul. Makes me want to send mine out again for some more work! CG
deerslayer
Congrats and I hope you've shot it by now. Did it have many WW2 internals originally? Be interesting to see what it came from the factory fitted out with. I seem to remember reading that some had bolts that were not WW2 and quite far out of spec. I've had a good look at a commemorative west hurly 28 set of internals and some seemed to be cast. Slide assembly was cast potmetal, maybe just aluminum. must
I've got a WHM1 that PK "overhauled" for me about almost 3 years ago. It runs flawlessly now. As far as internals are concern, they were all G.I. except for the following: rear sight, magazine catch, sear, barrel, frame, & the bolt. The rear sight was flimize & was replace with a AOC from my parts kit I sent to PK as well (the front sight on the WH barrel was a AOC already). The mag catch was replaced with a G.I. one (the WH one was made of pot metal & was hard to insert a magazine into the gun). The sear was alright so it was retained inside the gun. The barrel & frame were lefted on the gun as well. The bolt was another matter altogether! It was to long & it was hammering the chamber up real good. PK fixed the chamber up & a Savage M1 bolt was installed into the gun. By the way, the orignal front grip mount was a reivited type & broke when I was firing the gun. It has been replaced with a milled one by PK as well. PK had to remachine the receiver as it was out of specs too. This WH serial number is in the 600 range. I think this all (thank goodness). The WH was a NIB when I bought it years ago. Sure is FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! now!
