It looks like he is trolling for a BIG FAT SUCKER http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif . Either that, or he does not have a clue as to the true value and is setting the price according to what HE thinks it should be.

This guy has had that gun listed in GunBroker for well over a year for a very high price. I think he is just holding out for that Big Fat Sucker! I have looked at some of his auctions over time and all seem to be priced that way...I don't think he sells much. Just the 02 from another crack smoker! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

Yeah, I've seen this nut around for over a year. He lists on auction arm and gunbroker.com all the time with the same thing. I think I saw it on guns america also. H e is as high as the guy that has the M1A1 for $16,500. That guy started out at about $10,500 over a year ago and raised the prise everytime he re-listed. No one ever bids.

That 1927A1 should sell around $1800-$2000 max.

Hey Sgt,

Do you think that Thompson patch has the "Factory" white lettering?? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif

Oh no, here we go! You invoked the unvokable (?) white lettering again!

Hope the seller of that gun isn't lurking here...

You guys crack me up. Of course the white lettering adds to the rarity of the patch. It could get twice as much on ebay.

No, really you guys, factory white lettering is very rare on original Patches!

I made the mistake of washing mine, cutting the value down to nothing!

By the way, is that a Colt patch or Savage? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif

Okay, I'm off to sunny England tomorrow where all the firearms still contain thier original factory whites!

See you guys in a week or so,

Cheers, Zamm

I don't think there is any difference between a pre-ban Thompson and a post-ban Thompson.

The only way the WH/Kahr Thompson's were affected is no more 27A5 pistols could be made and of course no high cap magazines.

Not meaning to sound like a smart-a**, but I guess you could take a pre-ban manufactured Thompson and put bayonet lug on it or a folding stock (if there is such a monster.) http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif

just my $.02

All the semi 1927's have the 16.5" barrel. Unless it was the original Colt 1927 but that doesn't count on this one. If it was shorter than it would have to be a SBR,right?

Aah! Merry old England, where firearms are not to be held by the "subjects" unless it's a hunting shot-gun or hunting season.

Well cherrio old chap and look for the white paint on the leand-lease guns will ya. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Norm. The M1 commando has the set up to do that. I almost bought one last year in Ky gun show that had the bayo lug(first one I'd seen) and a bayo on it. It used a M1 carbine or M16 bayo and it fit right onto the end of the compensator. Now maybe someone put the bayo lug on it, but it looked like a damn good job if not a factory deal. I should have bought it for $800 but I passed. Oh it was a WH not a Kahr.

I just got back my semi-finished semi-auto Model MS

(M-1 type) receiver from Doug Richardson, now engraved with standard Thompson markings ("Bullet" logo on top, etc)

AND THEY WERE FACTORY WHITE PAINT filled!!

I guess THAT proves once and for all that... Oh wait...

...never mind.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, That bloody factory white! What did I start!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif

My most humblest apologies to one and all!

Sgt. Martin,

I'm off to London for the Frieze Art fair where we will try to sell our wares from famous snooty New York artists.

Hope you did not take offense to my sign-off of "Cheers", I've been saying that for years and mean nothing derogatory by it. I love London, probably the most pleasent and friendly people I've ever met.

Well, after three days, off to Belgium, my second home, to do a little teaching ( Visited the FN factory once, that was a gas!) where you are allowed to have these wonderful silencers on your .22 long rifles for shooting rats without disturbing your niehbors! (Farmers that is ).

As for Britian's gun laws, well, the East bloc organized mobs are moving in latley and seem to be bringing thier Tokerovs with them.

I really think it is a cultural thing, I mean, most young men in Switzerland are required to be on military reserve for a number of years. They go about thier day by day business while all the at home happens to be thier Full Automatic service firearms stored in the hallway closet. At the same time they have one of the lowest gun related crime records... Go Figure

Thompsons, Thompsons, Just saw my father this evening and was bragging about the work that PK was doing to my Westy.

He started his reminising about his two Thompsons in WWII, while he was on a landing craft as an ariel gunner.

He describied them to me again, Man! He had two, thats TWO, early Savage 28 Navy's, finned barrels, Compensators, the works. He had five Drums, and for some reason no sticks... Said that he never fired them from the shoulder, always the hip, but all he was shooting at with them were Hammerhead sharks while the guys on the boat would take a quick dip in the water! He allways slept with one under his bed...

Good old stories.

Okay guys, take care, Zamm
