tal35
I have a C&R Sten, the s/n starts with FD. Where was it made and does it have any more rarity to it than any other C&R sten?
DARIVS ARCHITECTVS
That gun you have was made at the Fazakerly Royal Arms Factory, Fazakerly, Great Britain as indicated by the "F". The "D" indicates that it was made in the the fourth run of 10,000 guns made there (A = 1st 10,000, B= 2nd 10,000, etc.). The serial number indicates what number within that batch of 10,000 it was made. My Sten MK II is "FCXXXXX" placing it in the batch just before yours. Mine was parkerized for the finish. Is yours similarly finished? Most later ones were just painted. The sanding and grinding marks are still very evident on my Sten. It certainly does look like a piece of pipe. It sure is great to shoot a 100% original classic though. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/woot.gif Edited September 29, 2006 by DARIVS ARCHITECTVS
