must
http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif On Monday on mail call they are comparing the Thompson vs. the German MP-40. I vote for the Thompson! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif. It is on two different times, 6 & 10 p.m. M.S.T. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif
Ron Mills
Hey, I'll tune in! Hadn't seen that one yet (maybe it's new). Thanks for the tip. And we all know which one will (or darn well should) win. I wonder which Tommy they'll have. I'm sure we'll all reconoiter, reconvene, reassemble, whatever, on Tuesday. Arthur Fliegenheimer
It's a repeat. Gunny uses a Savage 1928. He proclaims his love for the TSMG over the MP-40.
The1930sRust
Well, thanks, Arthur! Why not just tell me the butler did it http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

Walter63a
Yeah, go R. Lee Ermey!! Rah, rah!! Marines, R.Lee and the NRA all the way!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Chris, I understand and agree with the sentiment, "Muslims of the World: God I hate you guys..." However, in this politically correct, anally retentive 'day and age' you may be charged by some nut case with a speech crime, a thought crime and/or a 'hate crime'! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Regards, Walter
Arthur Fliegenheimer
Funny how a slower firing subgun, machinepistol, is more accurate. That is why the U. S. Navy, then the rest of the military, ordered the Colt in the 1928 configuration.
Ron Mills
I'll still wave my flag for the Thompson any day of the week. The watermelon sequence could've been favored toward the 28 Savage for hits with a different film take, too. I liked the sequence with the MP40, '28, and the ole slow M3. Man, those Grease Guns putter along. And talk about LOUD! Anyway, I loved the episode. Gunny is a keeper.
mp40
I say, give me both dammit! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif i love them both! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif one for each hand! the worst part is, i don't have cable/satellite for my tv! So, i missed the episode as always, when i can watch the History channel, they have the history of the sewing machine or something like that on. Hardly anything cool! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif
The1930sRust
Watching the history of the Screaming Eagles (as many of you no doubt are). Just heard a quote from one of them, "I was carrying a Tommy gun. I let out a burst of fire. Someone was approaching and didn't give the correct signal (paraphrasing here). So I let out a burst from the Thompson. Killed that cow right there...".
Waffen Und Bier
Got both a TSMG and an MP40. Both are neat and fun to shoot. Wish they showed more of the guns firing and more angles. Either in the hands of a capable shooter will do the job. The M3 puts me to sleep. I loved the episode where he shot the MP44 (except where they don't own up to the truth and admit the commies pretty much copied it in the AK47). Can't wait to shoot my 44 one of these days. Re: R. Lee: My wife is always quick to remind me "Hey, that's the guy who said he was g-a-y and kissed Jack Black at the end of "Saving Silverman". I could have done without that part. Walter63a
Thanks for sharing Brickyard. Brickyard
Walter: Spent a week with my friend from Avon. Went to shoot with him in Rust country but, he was "unsure". What do you breed into these guys from NY anyway???? Move. I know it's a beautiful place but ... move! Shoot with volume control control!!!! Maybe CA and I'll get some videos of the "ugly ducking". Be well. CJR
Ron Mills
I know we're starting to "cross boards" here with the MP40, but I just thought of something else to further cross-platform: As slow as the M3 shoots, and as fast as the PPSh 41 shoots, why the hell did we pit the M3 against the PPSh 41 in Korea??? I know there were Thompsons in Korea too, but the M3 was the replacement (we know what we all think about that). Guess I should worry more about the house payment rather than that scenario, but it donna make no sense to me. Just my usual -.02 cents.
full auto 45
Ok I found it. Here's the difference between the MP40 & the Thompson.....in video form that is. Brickyard's MP40 Now the Thompson..... 1928 Thompson http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif

giantpanda4
Hey, Watched mail call... and no one here yet caught that some of the video was of a 1928, and some of it was of an M1??? Still it was great! My wife says Gunny is a Bill Nye for Gun nuts! Love it! By the way... rates of fire for the 1928 and M1 are the same, right? Walter63a
Thanks Sir Mike, it certainly added something warm and special to my day!! "Happiness is a warm gun," The Beatles. Have a great day and don't forget to vote!
Bisley45
To be fairer we should limit the TSMG to a XXX box, I don't want to be on the receving end of any but I know what I'd want to lug with me even if it takes 3 men and a boy to lug ammunition for it.
