froster
Apparently you got the bronze bolts that were made for the Mk 3 Stens. They were apparently made of cast bronze because it was cheaper to cast and machine them than bolts made from steel rods. They were considered inferior and were not kept in service after the war. The Mk 3 Sten was often not kept in service after the war and the barrels were converted to be useable in Mk2 Stens. It would be interesting to convert a Mk3 receiver to use the Mk 2 barrel and jacket. Do you get to shoot the Sten where you are? At least the bronze bolts are interesting collection items.
