Sgt
When he said "all steel receiver" are you thinking that these aren't solid?
Bisley45
As I understood it the Thompson has no bolt the recever is solid. The Sten's barrel is cut inside and both the sten and MP 40's bolts are welded closed. Would not mind having them on my wall if a friend handed them to me but they look like they come very close to contraband, I wouldn't bid on them. mp40
Sgt, looking at the Thompson, I really can't tell if it is a solid receiver or not, but it looks very suspect...The mp40 looks to have an original receiver tube! you can tell by the early hook-style cocking handle, no replica that i know of has that feature. Also, the magazine housing is also an early piece. Which of course would match the early bolt handle. So, i think that it alone means big trouble to the seller, "welded-up" or not! Sgt
MP-- You're probably right; does look a little suspect. I've seen a lot of questionable things go on ebay, like the Thompson's with the bolt cut in half, front part welded, and back part workable. I can see how Joe Blow, on the streets, could easily buy it and never even imagine that anything is wrong.
