Pete
Hello all and Happy Holidays, Does your 5 round magazine hold 8 rounds. I haven't even loaded my 10 rounder yet? (But I will post if it holds more than 10.) And, how many magazine types are there? I have so far, a 5 rounder, 10 rounder and, of course, the 20 rounder. Lastly, does anyone know what the Italian Army used to carry their magazines? Thank you to you all in advance and Have a Happy Holiday. MRJ
Pete: I just loaded a "10" round BM59 mag I've had for some time and discovered it's actually a 9 rounder. You can almost get a 10th round in, but the follower pushes the front of the base plate down 1/4" below the bottom of the mag body. This particular mag is 3 1/2" long at the front edge and is marked "PIETTRO BERETTA MADE in ITALY 7.62 NATO". I also wish I could identify and locate the correct Italian web gear and cleaning equipment for the BM59. I suspect that there would be some demand for this material. Has anyone got any leads on this? MRJ
Pete
Good evening, I still haven't loaded (because I am loaded at the moment) the "ten" rounder yet. But what I use to carry my BM59 magazines is the BAR bandoliers or Blackhawk's .308 hip pouch on my belt. Also, I use the Arktis Allen? belt and vest. I forgot what model it is but will tell later. Anyway, just got back from a lawyer's Christmas party. (I think too early, but thought I had to babysit daughter, nieces, and nephew. My buzz is going away.) And need to associate with family. Talk to you all later! Happy Holidays! Pete (from Kissimmee (real spelling))
