Golden State Bm59 On Gunbroker ?

There is a Golden State Arms BM59 on Gun Broker right now . I see a nice folding stock , 4 magazines , and it has a set of M1 Garand lock bar sites on it ,other than that it looks like a typical Golden State Arms rifle to me .

It is up to $2,225.00 at this moment, is there something special about this rifle that I am missing ? It looks like nothing special to me. What am I missing about this one ? Is it true about being 1 of 200 ?

This one just got me to wondering .

 

Nobody knows or are we just being tight lipped until the auction is over ?

Looks like it sold for $2,825.00 . It had a nice folding stock,5 mags and a lock bar site ,but with the serial # in the 1.5 million range . Could this have been one of the Garands reworked by Beretta and imported by Golden State ?

I can't figure out why this one sold for so much anyone have a idea or theory ?

Mike - I know a individual who worked at Golden State when they were in the business, now owns Pacific Canvas & Leather - I know that they welded receivers, and without actually seeing the gun and giving a VERY, VERY close inspection, I would have taken a pass on it - JMHO

Thanks for the input! I just could not see anything so special about that one .I thought that maybee I was missing something . I am always willing to learn something about these rifles .
