Mike Venturino
Hey Guys: My Saginaw M1 Carbine converted to M2 by RIA arrived a couple of days ago. To my great disappointment it would only fire semi-auto with selector in either position. Taking it apart it was evident that the disconnector lever was in wrong because it wouldn't reach far enough backwards to engage the disconnector. Now for the problem. Neither my gunsmith nor myself can figure out how to get it assembled correctly. There has to be a trick to it. Anybody know what it might be? Thanks Mike Venturino

Thanks Mike Venturino Try rotating the pin 180 degrees when assembling. This should make the disconnect lever reach the disconnector. It will assemble both ways. That is what it looks like according to my TM9-1276. Good luck.
Mike Venturino
Thanks for the response. I finally felt good enough last evening to sit up long enough to study the M2. (I spent five days in the hospital last week and eary this week with pneumonia.) And after a bit of tinkering I got it together. I knew to change the disconnecter lever but was having trouble getting it to fit into the disconnector slot and its pin to go into its hole at the same time. Finally it just fell into place. Then I stuck it out the door (I live in Montana.) and it fired fine. Got about 10 inches of snow here today! Mike
