jbaum
For owners of the great MG3/MG42 tripods that have been imported and adapted to almost everything, now there is an English Translation of the original German instruction manual. This is not for the original WW2 Lafette, but for the recent imports of the Lafette, made by DISA and H&K. This is for the tripod only, the optics are a different manual that I haven't been able to find, yet. Professionally printed, with all of the original graphics. 50+ pages, 8.5"H x 5.5"W. Sample pages are below if this works, cut & paste into your browser if it doesn't. $17.00 and that includes U.S. postage, $19.00 to Canada, others inquire. Money orders ship immediately, personal checks OK, but will wait to clear. Email me for any questions, I've been told these are way too cheap for their quality and content, but this is a hobby, not a profession. Coming soon are translations of two original German guides to the MG42, Merkblatt 41/18, and the German D166/1 booklet. Both of these manuals are referenced in Folke Myrvang's book about the MG34/MG42. All about the same size. Email for details or to be put on the notification list. I will have a great MG34 book in a couple months. This is not a booklet,,,,, but a translation of the "Butz" book, with mounts and optics. Email for details or to be put on the notification list. This book is also referenced in Folke Myrvang's book about the MG34/MG42. Buts's book is 240+ pages of text and pictures. It will be the next project after I finish D166/1. The Merkblatt 41/18 booklet will be ready so ship by January 26, and the D166/1 will be a few weeks after that. I don't expect to have the Butz book ready for a few months, but can save your email and notify you when the time approaches. Abwehr
If you have one of the MG42 Tripods, you need this manaul. I wish John had produced this excellent quality manual earlier because it would have saved a lot of time trying to figure out how the tripod operated. Anyway, it is well worth the price and all quality including the translation. This manual is so good, that I have my name on the waiting list for the MG42 and the MG34 manuals as soon as they are hot off the press. Even if you know the tripod and guns, you can always learn something new from the "official" manuals with English translations. Again, a superb manual that you need to buy.
