michaelkih
I was wondering, will a MKIII gas regulator work just fine in an early stepped flash hider MKI barrel? Fit and port sizes. Or are they different? Thank you!
m3bobby
The Regulator mkIII is the standard for the Barrel Mk1 (post 1940). But do you mean the Regulator from the Barrel MkIV which was standard in the Bren Mk3? I know it sounds silly asking that question but the Mk3 regulator is correct for a Mk1 Barrel. The later MkIV Barrel for Mk3 gun was narrower in the gas regulator section of the barrel and its regulator was correspondingly narrower to. It will fit and function in a Mk1 Barrel but looks out of place.
michaelkih
Oh ok, so all the regulators on gun broker that say MKIII on the box are actually for the MKI barrel? That's confusing if so. Thanks for the help!
m3bobby
Yes, the Mk1 (not marked as such because I doubt they ever expected there to be more than one) was replaced by the Mk3 in 1940 when they enlarged the gas port in the barrel as a result of lessons learnt in 1940 during the downfall of France.
