Jay Baker
I just received an L drum, WH and was comparing it to my Bridgeport drum. It seems to fit more loosely, due to the rails being slightly smaller than the military drum. I also noted some wear on top where a bolt was making contact. Is this normal for the WH's or do I have a problem drum on my hands? Haven't tried to shoot with it yet, so I don't know how it runs. Another thing I noticed was that the magazine catch barely holds it because of the smaller magazine catch slot. Obviously, the West Hurley drums aren't up to the same standards as the earlier Colt and Bridgeports, but I haven't heard of any L's giving problems. Hopefully, mine will not be an exception. Any thoughts, anyone?
Bruce L
Jay, I bought 3 WH L drums new back in 1994 while waiting for my 1928. I've noticed very small areas of wear on the top of my drums. They still run like scalded dogs.
