Meathead
Hey guys (and gals?), first post here but I've have been working on my favorite bucket list gun the Thompson. Just had a couple questions on the tool less take down mod I have seen done. First with the dremel did you use a burr type tool or a small sanding drum. Second did you do any kind of work on the inside of the frame behind the fire control group for reassembly? Mine tends to hang up when I go to reassemble it and thus require the dreaded flat head to lift the plunger. Thanks for the help and this forum is awesome. 06AngusSG
I used a Dremel cut-off wheel and files to take the 1/4" off of the mount rails and a round file to kind of ramp the forward part of the slot behind the trigger group in the lower frame. In my post here I have pics but not specific wording detail you can see. http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17720&hl=%2B27a1+%2Bremodel Jon Edited September 24, 2019 by 06AngusSG
Meathead
Thanks alot! That was just what I needed, it baffles me as to why the factory wouldn't have already made these cuts instead of just going with the whole "just stick a screw driver into your nice new firearm" idea.
