al nukem
Hi, I am looking for a Beretta Bm59 or BM62 Gas Cylinder without the Grenade Launching lugs or boss. Pleazse let me know if you have one. Thanks, Tim
MRJ
Tim- Bm59/62/69 gas cylinders are extremely difficult to find. Have you tried Reese? He does sell items which he does not advertise. Is this gas cylinder needed to replace a damaged gas cylinder? MRJ
DaveGP
If someone has good closeup pics and dimensions of the BM59 gas cylinder, I'd love to see them (I believe there are 2 versions, excluding the M1 type) - my plan is to make up a few in stainless..... MRJ
Dave - There are three versions of the Beretta non-M1 type gas cylinder: BM59 - Drilled for grenade launcher spindle valve and gas tube accepts bipod BM69 - Not drilled for spindle valve but accepts bipod BM62 - Not drilled for spindle valve and won't accept bipod The greatest difference between an M1 and BM59 gas cylinder is the increase in the distance between the gas tube and barrel centerlines. This added space allows for the spindle valve and results in a straighter op rod. Gas cylinders of both types have the same length. I'll try to get some measurements. DaveGP
I wasn't sure if there were 2 or 3 types, but you jogged my memory. I would appreciate the help by getting the measurements - thanks! The Garand gas cylinder just doesn't have the 'look'.... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif
